Honestly I was surprised, a franchise this old could be rebooted with modern graphics.
What makes Time Stranger different from other games in this series is the insane number of Digimon, 400+ species. The evolution system is also competitive, with many paths to evolve. Of course, the turn-based combat is also satisfying and feels varied. Cool right. Collection + JRPG = a combo that gets you hooked.
But the grind is a bit slow and hard. But overall, for JRPG fans, this game is a must-try. The main story content is exciting. You could call this “the best Digimon game in years.”
