Chess has always felt intimidating to me. It seems like you have to stay serious the whole time. Even when it looks good in 3D like Chess Ultra, it can still feel complex and not fun. But Cat Chess actually makes it much more fun! It also beginner-friendly too, and its campaign does so much more than that.
But honestly, its AI is some of the worst I have seen in chess. By level three or four, the AI keeps moving its knight left and back again, then repeats it. It genuinely looks lost.
Steam reviews were Mixed at first because of the AI. Fortunately, that is fixed now.
Each level has an interesting puzzle, and the cat chess pieces are really cute. I have not found a difficulty slider, perhaps because the campaign levels up each stage. But yeah… it is worth your time.
