Released May 14, 2026 by Unknown Worlds with Unreal Engine 5. Crazy, the underwater graphics are much more detailed than the previous series. Bioluminescent lighting, suspended particles, everything looks real. But unfortunately it’s still Early Access, so sometimes there are frame drops when entering heavy areas.
The gameplay is still survival exploration, definitely very different from Dave the Diver which is more casual management. In Subnautica 2 you have to find resources, craft equipment, and build bases underwater while avoiding predators.
What makes it exciting? Multiplayer co-op. Finally you can scream together with friends when being chased by a Leviathan. I’ve been waiting a long time for this, for Subnautica 2 to have multiplayer. 👍
