At first I was skeptical… Could Bloober Team really do it? To revive this classic game. Turns out the result exceeded expectations. The iconic fog, the quiet village atmosphere, the tension while exploring Silent Hill city. All these elements still feel strong, even much more intense.
The most prominent is definitely the visual quality. Environmental details, light reflections, James Sunderland’s expressions, up to the design of Pyramid Head and Bubble Head Nurse are now much more realistic. Plus third-person over-the-shoulder gameplay. That’s why exploration and combat become more immersive without losing the original characteristics of Silent Hill. I even got chills while playing.
In my opinion this is one of the best remakes ever made. There are fans who prefer the classic PS2 camera, but well… that model probably isn’t relevant anymore.
