Released by id Software and published by Bethesda, I first dismissed this DOOM as milking with no innovation. But the gameplay feels different, with an armor suit, shield, and melee combat that make the experience more grounded and authentic. Faster-paced, medieval war against hell.
You can block with the shield, counter, and pull off super satisfying melee combos. Honestly, the shield feels awkward at first, but once it clicks, the combat gets truly addictive.
That said, this game is extremely resource hog and needs a powerful GPU.
