The original came out in 2008, and I still remember turning the volume down before opening any door. In this remake, the USG Ishimura feels even more like one living organism instead of a string of levels, and Isaac can speak now…. he feels more human, and his suffering feels truly real.
The combat is still brutal but smoother in every way, especially with the new dismemberment and peeling system, gross but awesome. The controls feel more responsive too.
For ambience and horror, it is on par with STALKER 2 or Dying Light: The Beast. The difference is that here you’re locked inside a single ship, so the feeling of being trapped hits harder.
