GIMP v3.2.4 (Win/Mac/Linux)
For something as simple as cropping a photo, removing an object, or making a basic poster, many people still rush to Photoshop despite its hefty price tag. GIMP v3.2.4 is a free, open-source image editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It covers everything from photo retouching and design work to digital painting. I’ve put the download link below, straight from GIMP’s official site. 🔥
Since version 3.2, GIMP supports non-destructive layers for text, links, and vectors, so you can edit them later without having to undo your work. A Link Layer can connect an external image, so if you edit an SVG logo in Inkscape, the changes appear in GIMP too.
Filters are non-destructive now and can be applied to channels. There’s also a Vibrance filter to boost saturation without making skin tones look oversaturated.
Compared with Photoshop, GIMP’s interface takes some getting used to, especially if you’re moving from paid software. If you want a couple of alternatives to compare, there’s Serif Affinity Photo and Paint.NET.
