Rockstar Games really nailed it with the open-world immersion. Vice City marked a turning point for the Grand Theft Auto franchise toward a more cinematic direction. Even after 20+ years, nothing beats the vibe of cruising down Ocean Beach at sunset.
The PC port, honestly, is a bit hit or miss. Several missions are broken in the original version, especially Demolition Man (RC Helicopter) with controls that drive you insane. The fix? Grab SilentPatch or Widescreen Fix from the modding community. These fix mission bugs, improve compatibility.
IMPORTANT: This is an old game, so you MUST use Compatibility Mode. Set it to Windows 7 or Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) in the .exe properties.
On newer hardware (RTX 40-series, Windows 11 24H2) there’s a chance it flat out won’t work, so be ready to troubleshoot. Mid-range Windows 10 setups should run it fine though.

How to Install GTA Vice City on Your PC :
- Download GTAVCity-yasir252.rar from the link below (1.5GB).
- Extract the rar file using WinRAR or 7-Zip to your preferred folder.
- Open the extracted folder and find gta-vc.exe.
- Right-click → Properties → Compatibility → set to Windows 7 or Windows Vista (SP2).
- Also check Run this program as administrator.
- Run gta-vc.exe, the game plays without installation. 👍
