PDF Reader Pro (v6.5.0) MacOS
The built-in MacOS Preview can only read PDFs. Want to annotate, fill a form, or edit text? It simply cannot… you hit a wall right away. PDF Reader Pro Full for Mac fills that gap, it is not the most advanced PDF editor, but for most people’s daily needs it is more than enough. Version 6.5.0 is the latest update, and I have downloaded it and used it for everyday document work. 🔥
The features I use most are annotation and highlight, filling PDF forms, plus converting to other formats like Word or Excel. There is also OCR for scanned PDFs, so the text becomes searchable and copyable.
The interface looks similar to Preview. Simple.. not many tools. But the capabilities really are more complete, and it does not make the Mac slow. Most users like this program because the app is not fussy.
If you need a more complete PDF editor but still want something light, use Wondershare PDFelement Pro (MacOS) or Nitro PDF Pro 13 (MacOS), both are also worth trying.

VERY IMPORTANT: You have to learn how to install applications from outside the App Store. Enable Kernel Extensions, Disable SIP and turn off Gateway Keeper on Mac. So if a problem shows up, “damaged” or anything else, it is not the file that is wrong!
